Voluntary Agreement Support

The Voluntary Agreement signifies an agreement undertaken by industrial enterprises, based on their energy intensity over the past five years, to commit to reducing their energy intensity by at least 10% over the next three years. In the event of fulfilling this commitment, the enterprise becomes eligible to receive cash support equivalent to 30% of their annual energy expenditure, capped at 1 million Turkish Liras.

Industrial enterprises affiliated with chambers of commerce and industry, chambers of commerce, or chambers of industry, with an annual total energy consumption of 500 TEP or more, can apply to benefit from the Voluntary Agreement support program.

5th Region Incentives

Under the scope of Article 8 of Law No. 5627 on Energy Efficiency, industrial enterprises' energy efficiency implementation projects aimed at reducing energy intensity are supported through the Productivity Increasing Project (VAP) program and practices for reducing energy intensity are supported through the Voluntary Agreement program. Additionally, investments in manufacturing industry facilities that achieve at least 15% energy savings, as per the Council of Ministers Decision No. 2014/6058 published in the Official Gazette dated May 9, 2014 and numbered 28995, benefit from the incentives of the 5th Region.

The incentives to be utilized include value-added tax exemption, customs duty exemption, tax reduction, employer's share of insurance premium support, interest rate support, and investment site allocation.

Efficiency Enhacement Projects (EEP)

In today's world, the energy consumption in living spaces and the high capacity factor of industrial facilities have led to a continuously increasing energy demand in recent years. This situation further emphasizes the importance of energy efficiency. Energy efficiency projects play a crucial role in managing the growing energy demand and establishing a sustainable business model.

Energy efficiency projects are initiatives aimed at optimizing the energy consumption of living and working spaces as well as industrial facilities, and using resources more efficiently. These projects not only support environmental sustainability but also reduce costs for businesses. Achieving energy efficiency in industrial facilities is a critical step towards gaining a competitive advantage and ensuring long-term sustainability.

To address this, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources evaluates projects aimed at preventing or minimizing unnecessary energy use, waste energy, energy losses, and leakages, as well as reclaiming waste energy and implementing solutions such as cogeneration systems, under the umbrella of Productivity Increasing Projects (VAP).

"Projects with a total investment cost of up to 5 million Turkish Liras, excluding VAT, are eligible for support, with up to 30% of the project cost being provided as a grant."

Industrial enterprises engaged in all types of manufacturing activities, affiliated with chambers of commerce and industry, chambers of commerce, or chambers of industry, with an annual total energy consumption of 500 TEP (ton equivalent of petroleum) or more, excluding legal entities holding licenses for electricity production, can apply for VAP support.
